This guide explains how to configure the TV button on the HomeSight remote control to launch a preferred video source—either the built-in TV tuner or a connected streaming device via HDMI.
Only authorized users can make these changes through the HomeSight Web Portal. Authorized roles include:
Staff Administrator Accounts: Full access to all clients.
Staff Accounts: Assigned to a client with Manage Permissions.
Account Manager: non-staff account assigned to a client with Manage Permissions.
Setting TV Source
In the left-hand menu, click the Accounts tab and locate the desired account.
Select the client by clicking their account card from the list.
In the client account menu, click the Devices menu to open the Devices screen containing a device list.
On the smart camera card, click the View more > link to enter the Device details screen.
On the Smart Camera's Device details screen, scroll down to the TV information section.
Click the TV Source drop-down menu and click on an option for the video streaming source.
Tip: If the port you selected is not saved, try double-clicking the left mouse button.
Once the preferred source is set, pressing the TV button on the HomeSight remote will launch the selected video source. Press the Home button to return to the HomeSight main menu.
